About & Contact

Issy Aldridge is a freelance journalist and social media coordinator based near Bournemouth, who has been writing about music, lifestyle and pop culture for nearly eight years. Her passion for writing came after she began her beauty and lifestyle blog What Issy Did in the summer of 2015, a platform which has seen Issy work in partnership with brands including Spectrum Collections and Magnitone London. When deciding which path to follow at the end of her educational career, moved to Brighton to complete her BA (Hons) Music Journalism degree at BIMM Brighton. Her teenage dream of one day writing for NME remains her ultimate career goal, but currently, she is overseeing the running of pop-culture platform, That Fangirl Life as its Web and Socials Manager.

Her work has been published across several, notable publications, with bylines featuring in The Argus and on Indie Central Music. She has previously reviewed, interviewed and tipped a number of upcoming artists including Dermot Kennedy, Gaffa Tape Sandy and The Manatees amongst many others. But in her second year of university, she undertook the role of Press and Social Media Coordinator for Milford Music and Arts Festival. Combining her love of festival culture and lukewarm tinnies with her desire to write for an audience, she managed the event's social media accounts to create engaging visual and written content.

Within her freelance role, she currently contributes to publications including Loop Zine, Warner's Dig! Platform and Two Suns Creative
