The Blinders
The Mancunian three-piece are set to play Brighton as part of their self-titled tour. Their fusion of political punk and rock is a force to be reckoned with, as their words always sit at the forefront of their works. With heavy guitar riffs, gravelly vocals and power-enthused drum kicks, a night with these guys is completely unmissable. The Blinders play at Sticky Mikes Frog Bar with support from The Sulks on the 9th of February. Tickets are now on sale at seetickets.com. (£7.70 for entry, 18+ only)
Wild Front
Hampshire’s answer to indie/rock comes in the form of Southampton band, Wild Front. They’re already riding the wave of success after playing the Isle of Wight festival last year and they intend for that success to continue this year. A must-hear song of theirs is Southside – a chill, psychedelic-inspired track ideal for lounging in the Spring sun. Their sound is growing in popularity, and it won’t be long until they’re headlining even bigger venues. They play at The Green Door Store on the 12th of February, with tickets just £6 and doors opening at 7pm.
Gaffa Tape Sandy
Having had their praises sung by a host of huge names, Gaffa Tape Sandy return to Brighton for the second time this year. Their debut EP was released early last year and gained great critical reception from the likes of Huw Stephens at BBC Radio 1 and Steve Lamacq at BBC Radio 6. Influenced by the likes of The Pixies and Slaves, Gaffa Tape Sandy’s music is a blend of garage and punk rock. The trio are set to headline their first Brighton show at The Prince Albert on February 26th, with doors opening at 7.30pm. Tickets can be found at seetickets.com (£4 in advance, £5 on the door)
